I am looking for the title of a non-fiction book. NASA/US Government cover-up?

It involves a cover up by the US government about the discovery of an asteroid buried in the arctic or antarctic ice with extraterrestrial fossils. It is a ploy to increase funding for NASA. at the end a senator gets info about the cover up and plans the unveiling in a press conference, where upon the press packets are switched out with photos of the senator involved in an affair. What is the name of this book, it is driving me mad!
